February & March Meetings

February Meeting at Steve's. Don has his half track there and is working on the restoration:

The March Meeting we held in Florence at the Honeyman State Park. We met in Bob's trailer and it worked out well as the weather was a little rainy.

That's all the pictures I have of the 2 meetings:

January 2012

Frank has sold the jeep in my last post, it is going off to live in New Mexico.
January Meeting:

We had a great January club meeting at my house in Coos Bay we had a total of 14 people and many thanks to those who made the journey.

It was the first club meeting I held at my home and combined with lunch and snacks it was a great get together. We were lucky it happened on Don's birthday as we were able to share his cake.

We have our next meeting scheduled for Saturday February 11th and who would like to host it? Please let Cal and/or me know. I am working on the next news letter so let me know by Monday Feb 6th at the latest.

January 8 2011

Christmas is over and the New Year is on a roll. Since I sent out the Newsletter some good stuff came my way:
Frank from the SOMCC (Southern Oregon Group) sent me some information on the jeep he is selling. He has it posted on the G503 Forums

I have replaced the tires, changed fluids, filters, had the gas tank boiled out, put on new wheel and master cylinders, new center tie rod, new civilian fuel pump, new brake lines, rebuilt the steering knuckles, replaced the u joints, replace the radiator hoses, water pump, thermostat, new plugs and some other stuff I can't stuff I can't recall at the moment. Lower inside windshield panel is wavy.

The jeep is still 24 volt, the carb has been changed by previous owner, as well as the distributor, coil and spark plug wires. The distributor and coil are pulling 12 volts from one battery and a separate push pull ignition switch is used as well as the 24 volt master switch. All lights are 24 volts. Have wiper arms, but no blades. Jeep runs and drives well.

I took a short drive over to see Ron and on Saturday he brought home a WW2 Ford GPW. Sadly it would be a major restoration. The frame looks twisted and unfortunately may be too rusted out but it has some nice parts on it.

It looks like a Ford that never saw motor pool, we didn't find any Willys parts so maybe a base jeep.

Nice sunny day so I did some work on my man cave, put down some diamond plate for the jeep tires to go on and I started to figure out my entertainment area. It has been cold here and the little heater seems to be just the right ticket.

The trailer has that nice odor of oil, canvas and military surplus, so far only thumbs up from me and the dog.
